BREAKING: Political Tension As APC Announces Suspension

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided to suspend its campaign for the upcoming Kogi Governorship Election on November 11. This move is a gesture of respect for Ms. Khadijat Yahaya, a party member who tragically lost her life after an attack by suspected thugs.

Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the spokesperson for the state Campaign Council, conveyed this information in a statement issued in Lokoja.

Khadijat’s unfortunate demise occurred following a clash between supporters of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the APC in Kotonkarfe on September 29.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Usman Ododo, the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, paid a visit to the family of the deceased in Kotonkarfe on Tuesday to offer his condolences.

Ododo expressed deep sorrow over her passing and offered prayers for the repose of her soul. In response, Malam Saliu Akawu expressed gratitude to Ododo for the visit. Akawu remarked that Ododo’s compassionate act demonstrated his role as a leader who empathizes with his people.

He further noted that Khadijat was a person who ardently advocated for peace, and her life was tragically cut short by wicked individuals.

Ododo also visited the Palace of the Ohimege of Kotonkarfe, Alhaji Abdulrazak Koto, where he conveyed his sorrow over Khadijat’s passing. He described her as a woman who ardently sought progress for Kotonkarfe and pledged to ensure justice for the deceased’s family.
