The assailants struck the village shortly before midnight, orchestrating their deadly operation until approximately 1:30 am on Thursday.

Residents recounted the horrifying experience, noting that the bandits systematically went from house to house, ransacking and seeking valuables, including money.

According to sources speaking to The Punch, the bandits ruthlessly took the lives of the village head, his four children, and four other individuals during the attack.

Addressing the tragic event, the state Commissioner for Internal Security, Nasiru Muazu, conveyed his response through his spokesperson, Hassan Dan-Alli.

He emphasized the state’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of its people, affirming relentless efforts to ensure the safety of residents.

This horrifying incident follows a similarly grim event last Friday when bandits ambushed and killed no fewer than six traders en route to a local market in Yantumaki, located in the Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.
