Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants arrived in large numbers on motorcycles, armed with automatic rifles. Although they faced resistance from KSCWC members and local vigilante groups, the attackers’ overwhelming numbers ultimately overcame the defenders.

The KSCWC operative lost his life while bravely attempting to protect the community during the assault, and the second victim was reportedly shot after resisting abduction.

This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Katsina State, which, like many other regions, has been plagued by frequent attacks from terrorists, kidnappers, and cattle rustlers. Affected communities are often located near vast forest areas that serve as hideouts for these criminal groups.
