Ekiti Monarch Killing: IGP Deploys AIG Asabi And Additional Personnel To Akure

The move comes in the wake of the tragic killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State and a distressing attack resulting in the abduction of school students and teachers. The IGP has strongly condemned these incidents and aims to address the security challenges promptly.
According to a statement by the police spokesperson, immediate measures have been implemented, including the deployment of AIG Abiodun Asabi to coordinate a comprehensive security response in Zone 17 Akure, covering Ekiti and parts of Ondo State.
Thirteen suspects have already been apprehended in connection with the reported incidents. The IGP reassures the public of the Nigerian Police Force’s commitment to justice and preventing a recurrence of such events.
Citizens are urged to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative as efforts are underway to restore peace and security in the affected areas.
