According to reports, actress and filmmaker Mary Njoku has cautioned individuals against allowing bitterness and personal resentment to influence their prayers, stressing that divine justice cannot be manipulated by human grudges.

In a message shared via her Instagram page, the actress addressed what she described as religious fanaticism, stating that regular church attendance or extensive knowledge of the Bible does not give anyone the authority to determine who deserves God’s favour. She maintained that harbouring hatred toward others and praying for their downfall cannot overturn the blessings God has ordained for them.

Njoku emphasized that God remains just and all-knowing, noting that He judges people based on the sincerity of their hearts, intentions, love, and faithfulness rather than outward displays of religiosity. She argued that genuine devotion is reflected through character and actions, not merely through religious practices.

The mother of three further warned against offering harmful prayers against people who have shown kindness, support, and goodwill. According to her, such prayers often rebound on those who utter them, particularly when directed at individuals who may have been divinely positioned to bring blessings or answers to their lives.

She added that while bitterness can cloud human judgment and perception, it has no power to deceive God, who understands every motive and sees beyond outward appearances. Njoku concluded by encouraging people to embrace love, gratitude, and sincerity rather than resentment and ill will toward others.
