In his statement, Rexxie mentioned being detained by Ugandan Immigration authorities. However, he refrained from elaborating on the grounds for his arrest, labeling it as “unjust.”

Expressing his plea for assistance, the producer urged his supporters to advocate for his release using the hashtag “UgandaFreeRexxie.”

In his post, he wrote, “I have been detained by Ugandan Immigration. Please, I am in need of assistance.”

This incident follows the recent arrest and legal ordeal of Nigerian musicians Omah Lay and Tems in Uganda. The duo faced charges and imprisonment for violating COVID-19 social distancing regulations after performing at a concert at Speke Resort, Kampala, on December 12th. They were eventually released after spending two days in custody.
