Gunman Apprehended In Kaduna With Possession Of Nigerian Army General’s Complimentary Card, AK-47, And Other Items

The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed this arrest, highlighting it as a significant achievement in crime prevention and detection. According to ASP Mansir Hassan, the Police Command’s spokesperson, the suspect, believed to be involved in armed robbery, was apprehended swiftly. Subsequently, his operational weapon, an AK47 rifle, was recovered.

The success of this operation is attributed to the proactive measures taken by the police operatives, acting on credible intelligence received from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maraban Jos Division. The intelligence report, received on March 24, 2024, at approximately 2030 hours, led to the arrest of Salim Aliyu, a 22-year-old resident of Badarawa Kwaru in Kaduna North, Kaduna State.

During the arrest, Aliyu was found in possession of an AK47 rifle with Breach No. 01585, accompanied by three rounds of 7.62 x 39mm live ammunitions. Additionally, other items recovered from the suspect include a Nigerian Immigration Service camouflage singlet and face cap, a sharp knife, a flier, a desert handbag, a wallet containing a First Bank ATM card, and the aforementioned complimentary card belonging to a Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army.

During interrogation, the suspect, Aliyu, confessed to being on a robbery mission to Maraban Jos.

This successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Kaduna State Police Command to maintaining law and order in the state.
