Breaking: Dangote-Refinery Achieves Milestone: Ships 45,000 Metric Tons Of Jet Fuel To Europe (Details)

The Dangote refinery in Nigeria has achieved a significant milestone with the export of its first jet fuel cargo to Europe, signaling a momentous leap in its global energy market presence and operational expansion.

S&P Global Commodity Insights reported on Friday that British Petroleum (BP) is facilitating the transportation of 45,000 metric tons of jet fuel from the Dangote refinery to Rotterdam aboard the Doric Breeze. This marks the refinery’s European market debut following a substantial 120,000 metric ton tender.

The shipment, loaded from Lekki on May 27, underscores the refinery’s rapid production escalation and adherence to European jet A1 standards, potentially reshaping trade dynamics in West Africa.

The export signifies a pivotal moment for the new 650,000 b/d complex, with BP spearheading the transportation, reflecting the refinery’s growing influence in global energy trade.

Despite the promising development, European traders caution that the influx of Nigerian jet fuel flows may exacerbate existing market weakness due to oversupply, highlighting the complexities of global energy dynamics amid evolving trade patterns.
