Nigeria’s Problem Is Not Peter Obi – Tanko Replies Morka

In a heated response to the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson Felix Morka, Labour Party chieftain Yunusa Tanko has argued that the ruling APC is responsible for Nigeria’s challenges, not Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

Morka had accused Obi of making statements that incite public discontent, but Tanko refuted these claims during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday, asserting that APC is deceiving the people and failing to address the real issues plaguing the nation.

Tanko pointed out the skyrocketing price of basic commodities like rice and the unfulfilled promises to civil servants as evidence of APC’s shortcomings. He argued that despite government promises, essential needs remain unmet, and infrastructure development, such as the poor state of roads, is being neglected. Furthermore, Tanko criticized the government’s handling of security, highlighting the ongoing banditry in states like Zamfara and Katsina, with the bandits themselves accusing the government of sponsorship.

Addressing rising education costs, Tanko lamented that many students are struggling to afford school fees, adding to the public’s frustration with the current administration. He concluded by stating that it is unacceptable for the APC to mislead Nigerians and insult their intelligence.
