New Dawn In Ekiti: Oyebanji’s Unity Revolution Ends Political Divisions
Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Leader, has declared that a new political atmosphere has emerged in Ekiti State under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, where everyone feels included regardless of their ethnic, social, or political background…READ MORE…
Speaking during a visit to Oyebanji in Ikogosi Ekiti on Thursday, Bamidele praised the governor for reshaping the state’s political landscape and promoting unity among diverse communities.
Representing the Ekiti Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Bamidele emphasized that the Oyebanji administration marks the end of divisive politics in the state.
“I am here to pay homage to my governor, and to God be the glory. We are now experiencing the new Ekiti that God has granted us. I mean that we finally have a state where everyone feels a sense of belonging; there are no outcasts or divisions, even within our party. It’s no longer about being for or against the governor,” he stated.
He recalled how individuals who would have previously been hesitant to visit him were present to celebrate Christmas, illustrating the newfound political unity in Ekiti. “For the first time in this state’s history, we have a governor who does not draw lines between the ruling and opposition parties. He sees himself as the governor of all, not just of a faction,” he added.
The lawmaker urged the people of Ekiti to support the governor to maintain the ongoing transformation within the state.
In a similar vein, Sheik Jamiu Kewulere, Chief Imam and President of the League of Imams and Alfas in the Southwest, praised Oyebanji’s inclusive governance while visiting to celebrate Christmas.
He highlighted the significance of this inclusivity, stating that the Muslim community felt compelled to celebrate the season with the governor. Kewulere commended the governor for fostering unity across religious lines and improving state relations.
He urged Oyebanji to remain committed to his mission of unity and development, assuring him of the Muslim community’s ongoing prayers and support for his administration.
In response, Oyebanji expressed gratitude to Bamidele, Muslim leaders, and other political figures who joined in the Christmas celebrations, reaffirming his pledge to serve all citizens fairly.
He emphasized that “love and unity are crucial for the ongoing development of the state. Progress can only be realized in a climate of peace and mutual respect.”
“The essence of this season is love; Jesus came and died for us, embodying that love. As public servants, we must extend love to everyone,” he concluded.
