Hajj Registration Deadline Fast Approaching

The update was shared in a statement issued by the Board’s spokesperson, Mohammed Aliyu, who explained that the change was prompted by an adjustment to the 2025 Hajj calendar by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to the revised schedule, state Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies are required to remit all funds by February 1, 2025.

Aliyu noted that over 40% of the FCT’s allocation for the 2025 Hajj has already been filled since the registration opened in September 2024. With this in mind, he urged prospective pilgrims to act promptly to secure their spots.

He encouraged intending pilgrims to make their deposits before the January 30 deadline to benefit from the Board’s excellent services in Hajj operations.

The minimum deposit required is N8.4 million, which must be made via a bank draft from any commercial bank, payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. Deposits can be made at the Board’s headquarters in Abuja or at any of the six area councils, pending the release of the final Hajj fare by NAHCON.

Aliyu stressed that registration is based on a first-come, first-served principle, ensuring fairness for all applicants.

Intending pilgrims who had previously made deposits but were unable to attend past Hajj events are required to top up their payments to meet the new deposit threshold by the January 30 deadline.

Aliyu reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing enhanced services for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
