Reports from the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reveal that the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko, was suspended indefinitely. Additionally, Chief Whip Mojeed Fatai was elevated to the position of Deputy Speaker.

Security forces were deployed to the Assembly complex to prevent any unrest following the dramatic power change.
