Speaking at the Nigerian Army Signals West African Social Activities 2024, held at Signals Barracks in Mile 2, Lagos, Ugbo expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, for various intervention projects designed to enhance operations and servicemen’s well-being.

Ugbo highlighted the successes achieved in 2024, identifying it as a year marked by significant advancements in training, welfare initiatives, and infrastructural development across all corps’ operational theaters. He noted, “In 2024, our focus is on prioritizing the training and welfare needs of our personnel, which positively affected our professional capabilities.”

Several infrastructure projects have since been completed, including the remodeling of the NA Signals headquarters and the construction of a 60-room hostel for students and officers at the NA School of Signals. Ongoing efforts also include building suitable accommodations for the commandant and a two-storey hostel to house 480 student soldiers.

Ugbo remarked, “These developments have improved the productivity of our staff and created a conducive learning environment for both students and faculty.”

He acknowledged the creativity, innovation, and professionalism exhibited by the personnel, attributing much of the Nigerian Army’s success in 2024 to their dedication. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.”

The West African Social Activities are an annual event that marks the conclusion of the Nigerian Army formations’ operational activities for the year.
