Matawalle had cautioned Amaechi about the consequences of inciting violence in the country, warning that the President Bola Tinubu administration would not stand by and allow the likes of Amaechi to manipulate Nigerian youths into chaos and violence.

But Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and ally of Amaechi, has fired back at Matawalle, describing his warning as “mindless and aimless”.

Eze accused Matawalle of playing politics with the blood of Nigerians being spilled daily due to insecurity, saying the Defence Minister should focus on fighting the hydra-headed security challenges bedeviling the country rather than issuing unwarranted warnings.

Matawalle had warned Amaechi about making comments that could radicalize the youth and destabilize national security, but Eze said it was unfortunate for Matawalle to be busy issuing warnings while the nation was plagued by insecurity.

“He should do well for the Tinubu administration by concentrating on how to help checkmate the menace of insecurity ravaging our nation under his watch rather than his arm-chair intimidation,” Eze said in a statement.

Eze also accused Matawalle of playing politics with the emergence of the APC, saying he was one of those who “do not know how APC came to be, but today enjoying the fruits of the likes of Amaechi who sacrificed their lives for the formation of APC”.
