Sources indicate that both Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan will appear before the committee to ensure due process is observed. Senator Neda Imasuen’s committee is expected to handle the investigation, with the ultimate aim of declaring Akpabio officially innocent while recommending Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension for the remainder of her tenure.

Additionally, Senator Ireti Kingibe’s support for the investigation and Senator Onyekachi Nweboyin’s recent media statements are said to be part of a coordinated effort to solidify the suspension plan.
