No amount of supplements or therapy can resolve the ongoing struggle with mental health when you live in a place where you don’t feel fulfilled. You feel lonely, bored, and realize there’s so much more you could be doing, instead of living the same 9-5 routine—work, come home, repeat. On your days off, you just want to rest, and before you know it, it’s Monday again,” she said.

In a series of TikTok videos, Jenny outlined her reasons for the move, acknowledging that leaving the U.S. was a tough decision, but one she made for her peace of mind and personal growth.

Upon her return, Jenny plans to settle in Lagos and begin her business venture. She concluded with a firm statement of her intentions: “These are basically my reasons for moving to Nigeria. People ask me why I want to leave the U.S., and I say, ‘I don’t want to work a 9-5 for the rest of my life. I don’t want to work for anyone forever.
