Three Injured in Broad-Daylight Armed Robbery in Ibadan’s Mokola Area

At least three people sustained injuries during a daylight armed robbery in Mokola, a busy neighborhood in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday morning.

The incident reportedly occurred around 11:30 a.m., when a group of armed robbers attacked a shop, targeting individuals who had just arrived to purchase goods for retail.

Eyewitnesses said the assailants, armed and aggressive, stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Confirming the event, Oyo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, stated that police have launched an investigation into the robbery.

“Investigation has commenced. Updates will be provided in due course,” Osifeso said in a brief message to the press.

As the probe continues, residents have called for increased security presence in the area to prevent future attacks.
