According to iReporter Online, the Kano State Hisbah Board has apprehended 26 individuals during a coordinated operation at Grace Palace Hotel, located near Bukabu Barrack in Kano metropolis. The suspects—comprising 14 females and 12 males—were reportedly arrested on allegations of engaging in “immoral activities” within the hotel premises.

The operation, which took place on Saturday, followed multiple complaints from concerned citizens about illicit behavior at the facility. The Deputy Commander General of the board, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrests in a telephone conversation, expressing gratitude to military authorities for their collaboration during the raid.

Dr. Aminuddeen disclosed that a significant quantity of alcoholic beverages, including several cartons of assorted wine, was confiscated from the premises. He noted that many of the individuals were found to be intoxicated at the time of arrest.

Emphasizing the board’s mission to uphold moral standards in the state, the Deputy Commander appealed to the public to continue reporting such incidents—whether in hotels or private residences—for swift intervention.

He stated that the raid was part of an ongoing campaign aimed at curbing activities deemed contrary to public morals and that similar operations would be sustained in the future to promote societal decency across Kano State.
