Gov Oyebanji, Keyamo Shine Bright At 2025 Travellers Awards Ceremony

The Travellers Award 2024/2025 has honoured outstanding achievements across Nigeria’s travel, tourism, aviation, and hospitality sectors, according to iReporter Online.

In a statement released to Travelpulse&MICE by Ambassador Ikechi Uko, organiser of the Alwaaba African Travel Market (AfTM), the winners of this prestigious award have distinguished themselves through exceptional contributions to their respective industries.

According to iReporter Online, in the tourism category, Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, was recognised as Tourism Governor of the Year for his strategic investments in tourism infrastructure and cultural initiatives.

Diamonds and Pearls Travels received the Tour Operator of the Year (Outbound) award, while Global Anago Adventures Limited was named Tour Operator of the Year (Inbound) for their outstanding services.

Leadership in aviation was also celebrated: Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, Managing Director/CEO of Value Jet Airline, earned the title Travel Personality of the Year, while Ambassador Wale Akinboboye was named Tourism Personality of the Year for his remarkable efforts in growing La Campagne Tropicana resorts and the Ipada Carnival.

According to iReporter Online, Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, was honoured as Aviation Man of the Year for his transformative reforms.

Ibom Air was recognised as the Best Airline in Nigeria, with Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and Turkish Airlines receiving top accolades in various international and cargo airline categories.

Naija Explorers won Best Domestic Tour Operator, and Wakanow was named Best Travel Agency in West Africa. Lagos Aviation Academy earned Aviation School of the Year for producing IATA’s overall best performers.

According to iReporter Online, these awards highlight the commitment to innovation, excellence, and growth by individuals and organisations shaping Nigeria’s travel and tourism landscape.
