Yinka Quadri Breaks Down In Tears As Ogogo Is Buried In Ilaro

Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri broke down in tears on Monday as his longtime colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was laid to rest in Ilaro, Ogun State.

Quadri was among family members, friends, colleagues and sympathisers who gathered in the actor’s hometown to pay their final respects to the veteran Yoruba film star.

According to IREPORTERONLINE, Quadri shared a close relationship with Ogogo and was visibly overwhelmed by emotion during the burial ceremony as mourners gathered to bid farewell to the 66-year-old actor.

Several prominent figures in the Yoruba film industry also attended the funeral, including veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Femi Adebayo, Ireti Osayemi and other colleagues and friends of the deceased.

Ogogo’s death was announced by Jide Kosoko on Sunday, who disclosed that the actor died at about 3pm at the age of 66.

His remains were subsequently transported to Ilaro ahead of the burial, which was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.

The actor’s death came shortly after his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, appealed for public assistance to support his medical treatment.

Ogogo had reportedly been battling stage-four cancer, with his family revealing that doctors had stopped chemotherapy because of the severity of his condition.

His death has continued to generate an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans and prominent Nigerians who have described him as one of the influential figures in the Yoruba film industry.

The emotional scenes at his burial highlighted the deep impact Ogogo had on colleagues and admirers throughout his decades-long career.
