President Tinubu Names Governor Uzodinma As Renewed Hope Ambassador

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as the nation’s first Renewed Hope Ambassador, in a move preceding the launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

A statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, outlined that Uzodinma will also serve as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation. In this capacity, he is expected to work closely with All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and governors to champion the administration’s initiatives nationwide.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, assigns Governor Uzodinma the responsibility of promoting harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination within the party. As Renewed Hope Ambassador, he will lead efforts to mobilise and engage citizens, while collaborating with fellow APC governors, who will also serve as Ambassadors of Hope.

President Tinubu urged Governor Uzodinma to ensure that Nigerians are fully informed about the achievements of his administration since taking office in May 2023. The government has highlighted several economic successes, including seven consecutive months of declining inflation, stabilization of the exchange rate, foreign exchange reserves rising to over $46 billion, and renewed investor confidence reflected in increased foreign direct investment and portfolio inflows. The administration has also emphasized economic diversification, growth in the oil, gas, and solid minerals sectors, improvements in the stock market, and expanded access to education through a liberal student loan policy, benefiting over 700,000 students. Additionally, passport issuance has been streamlined to ensure processing within a week.

President Tinubu’s directive underscores the strategic role of Governor Uzodinma and his colleagues in communicating the administration’s milestones and reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope across Nigeria.
