Ray Emodi: I Quit Acting For Music, Not Because Of Trauma
According to industry sources, actor and singer Ray Emodi has clarified recent reports suggesting he left acting due to trauma or family pressure. In a TVC interview, Emodi explained that his decision to focus on music stems from a lifelong passion rather than personal difficulties.
I never quit acting. I stopped acting to focus on my true calling, which is music,” Emodi said, revealing that he has been writing and recording music since his primary school years. He attended international schools in Enugu and later studied in Los Angeles, consistently working on his music throughout his educational journey.
Emodi further disclosed that his decision to study acting in Los Angeles was strategic, aimed at securing a visa to pursue a record deal in the United States. “You can’t get a visa for music school, but you can for acting school. I attended the New York Film Academy in LA to try to get a record deal,” he explained.
Despite financial challenges in the music industry, Emodi continued acting to support his musical pursuits. He stressed that his ultimate goal is not fame, but making a meaningful impact through his music. “People know me from acting first, but music will give me more. I care about impact, not fame. With impact comes recognition and opportunities, but that’s secondary,” he concluded.
