The Legend Lives Forever In Our Hearts- Moses Omo-Ikirodah Mourns The Death Of Sir Victor Uwaifo

Africa’s entertainment industry lost another big name to the cold hands of death on Saturday following the death of iconic highlife music percussionist and Mammy Water, crooner, Sir Victor Uwaifo.

Moses Omo-Ikirodah has mourned his death describing him as a legend who would forever live in the hearts of millions of admirers worldwide.

Moses said he received the news with shock stating that the Nation has lost one of its greatest musical voices and entertainer extraordinaire.

“ Professor Victor Uwaifo was one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever known, he was a multi-talented musician, songwriter, guitarist, a perfect administrator and professor of Visual Arts, his legacy will live on, in the countless admirers he touched with his love of music, and in his distinct way of interpreting human emotions and the meaning of life through his own musical compositions.

“I will forever remember him with deep admiration and affection and my thoughts and sympathies are extended to his beloved family, the people and government of Edo State and the entertainment industry. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”

Sir Victor Uwaifo, who released hits after hits in fast tempo highlife music is the first professional musician to be awarded the National Merit Honours of Member of the Order of the Niger.

Sir Uwaifo rocked the music industry in the 80s and was the teacher of many music greats who were inspired by his music and arts.
