Torreira Sh*cks Football World: Osimhen Better Than Yamal, Kane & Haaland

According to Ireporter Online, Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira has named Victor Osimhen among the top three footballers in the world, placing the Nigerian striker above stars including Lamine Yamal, Vinícius Júnior, Harry Kane, and Erling Haaland.

In an interview with MK News Turkey, Torreira highlighted Osimhen alongside Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappé as the standout performers in the game. “Federico Valverde, Kylian Mbappé, and Victor Osimhen are currently the world’s best footballers,” he said.

The praise comes after a stellar season for Osimhen, who has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 29 matches across all competitions. His form has been pivotal in Galatasaray’s bid to retain the Süper Lig title and has helped the club reach the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League, the first time in more than a decade that a Turkish side has advanced that far.

European interest in Osimhen continues to grow, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus reportedly monitoring his situation. Despite this, a move this summer seems unlikely due to his high salary in Turkey and his expressed contentment with life in Istanbul.

Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has also recommended that the Premier League club consider adding Osimhen to their ranks. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Butt suggested that current options up front may be insufficient and that striker Benjamin Šeško could benefit from support. “I don’t think Šeško can carry the club up front on his own; they will need another No. 9. I don’t think he needs replacing, but someone better who can lift his game as well,” Butt said.

Butt added, “I know Osimhen isn’t proven in the Premier League, but you look at his physicality and the way he plays football; he can definitely handle it. He’s powerful, quick, can run in behind, strong, and scores different types of goals. He’s good in the air.”
