Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has cautioned a social media critic against involving her in ongoing conversations surrounding the YouTube performance of Uche Montana’s latest film.

According to Ireporter Online, the reaction followed widespread attention generated by Montana’s newly released movie, Monica 2, which reportedly garnered over five million views within 24 hours of its debut. Reports indicate that the sequel had already accumulated approximately 4,403,874 views within its first 15 hours after premiering on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The film’s strong early performance has not only surpassed the viewership of its predecessor but has also reinforced Montana’s growing influence in Nollywood’s digital distribution landscape. However, the figures have sparked skepticism across social media platforms, with some users questioning the authenticity of the numbers.

One critic drew comparisons between Montana’s achievement and Abraham’s recent release, Alakada GenZ, pointing out that the latter reached three million views over the course of a week, while Monica 2 reportedly crossed five million views in less than a day, raising doubts about the organic nature of the milestone.

Responding to the comparison, Abraham distanced herself from the debate, urging the critic to exclude her from the discussion and allow Montana to celebrate her success. She emphasized that the moment belonged to Montana and should not be overshadowed by unnecessary comparisons.
