It’s For Life — Seun Kuti Rules Out Any Reconciliation With Wizkid
According to Ireporter Online, Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has maintained that his ongoing dispute with Wizkid is far from over, insisting that there will be no reconciliation between them.
Naija News reports that the rift between both entertainers began after Wizkid reportedly made a remark comparing himself to Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. The comment followed an earlier warning from Seun Kuti, who had urged fans to stop drawing comparisons between Wizkid and his late father.
Speaking during an appearance on the Afro Fusion podcast, Seun Kuti was asked whether the issue between him and Wizkid had been resolved. He dismissed any suggestion of peace, stating that the matter remains unsettled.
He explained that the disagreement stems from what he described as disrespect toward his late father, stressing that such an act makes reconciliation impossible. According to him, once a line of disrespect is crossed, there is no going back.
Seun Kuti further noted that he has nothing more to say about Wizkid but firmly maintained that the feud is permanent. “My beef with Wizkid is on for life. I don’t have anything to say about him but it is on for life. You don’t say things about my dad and then it is fine. There is no coming back from that,” he said.
