Government Role Won’t Stop My Music Career – Davido
Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer, Davido, has stated that holding a government position would not hinder his music career, insisting he could still remain active in the entertainment industry even while serving in public office.
According to Ireporter Online, Davido made this known during a livestream conversation with Davrel, where he explained that his musical engagements would continue regardless of any government responsibility he might assume in the future. He maintained that balancing both roles is possible, though with a reduced level of performance compared to his full-time music schedule.
He referenced former Haitian President Michel Martelly as an example, noting that Martelly continued performing and even embarked on tours while serving as head of state, adding that such dual engagement is achievable.
Davido further clarified that he is no longer interested in pursuing a political career. He said his perspective changed after observing several Nigerian entertainers who transitioned into politics without notable success, adding that current realities have made him reconsider his earlier interest in governance.
