NEDC Commends Progress On Adamawa Bridge And Youth Centre

According to Ireporter Online, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) on Monday commended the pace and quality of work on the ongoing five-span bridge at Bole and the Youth Development Centre located in Shagari Lelewalji, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The commendation was made during an inspection visit led by Musa Hyeladi on behalf of the Adamawa State Coordinator of the Commission, Barrister Khalifa M. Lawan. The delegation, which included technical and administrative staff, assessed the level of work completed and the contractor’s adherence to project specifications handled by Traicta Construction Limited.

Speaking at the Bole bridge site, Hyeladi expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, noting that the project holds significant potential to transform transportation and stimulate economic activities in the area. He stated that the project, when completed, would restore connectivity, improve mobility, and enhance access to farms, markets, schools, and healthcare services for surrounding communities.

Earlier, the Head of the Technical Team, Engineer Joseph Francis, briefed the inspection team on the scope of work, completion status, and the anticipated impact of both projects on host communities.

The inspection team also visited the Youth Development Centre at Shagari Lelewalji, which is designed to provide vocational training, skills acquisition, and empowerment opportunities for youths across Adamawa State and the wider North-East region.

Reacting to the projects, the Project Manager of Traicta Construction Limited, Ghassan Ghanem, expressed appreciation to the Commission for its support and cooperation throughout the execution process, assuring that the projects would be delivered on schedule and in line with required quality standards.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to timely delivery and adherence to specifications, describing the collaboration with the Commission as productive.

The projects, which form part of the NEDC Master Plan initiative tagged “Connecting Communities in the Region,” are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, boosting economic activities, and creating employment opportunities across the North-East.
