According to Ireporter Online, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has clinched the English Premier League Golden Boot for the 2025/26 season after finishing as the league’s highest goalscorer.

The Norwegian forward netted 27 goals in 35 Premier League appearances, securing the prestigious award for the third time in four seasons since joining Manchester City. His tally placed him five goals ahead of Brentford’s Igor Thiago, who impressed with 22 goals in a standout campaign that also boosted his international prospects with Brazil ahead of the World Cup.

Haaland’s latest achievement puts him in elite company, as he now shares three-time Golden Boot winner status with Premier League legends Alan Shearer and Harry Kane. Only Mohamed Salah and Thierry Henry remain ahead of him, having each won the award four times.

The 25-year-old had previously dominated the scoring charts in his debut seasons at Manchester City, and his 2025/26 success marks a return to the summit after narrowly missing out in the previous campaign.

Despite his individual brilliance, Manchester City fell short in the title race, finishing behind Arsenal, who were crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years. City’s campaign ended with a 2–1 defeat to Aston Villa, a match in which Haaland was not included in the squad as the club closed the chapter on Pep Guardiola’s tenure.

Haaland began the season in explosive form, scoring 19 goals in his first 17 matches and driving City’s early title challenge. However, a mid-season dip saw him manage just one goal in seven games, a penalty against Brighton, during a period that coincided with a poor run of results for the club.

He later regained form in the closing stages, scoring decisive goals against Liverpool and Arsenal, but City’s dropped points against Everton and Bournemouth ultimately proved costly in the title race.

Top 10 EPL goalscorers for the 2025/26 season:
