I Have Video Proof” — Anih Blasts NDC Leaders Over Alleged Impersonation Claim

According to reports monitored by Ireporter Online, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Nigeria Democratic Congress had earlier distanced itself from Anih, stating that he was neither recognised as the Enugu State chairman nor authorised to act on behalf of the party. The party leadership reportedly identified Ibuchukwu Obeta as the recognised chairman in the state.

Reacting in a statement issued on Monday, Anih described the allegations against him as laughable and politically motivated. He accused those behind the claims of attempting to seize control of the party through intimidation, propaganda, and alleged backdoor dealings.

Anih further expressed disappointment that some individuals who once worked closely with him were now denying his leadership role, alleging that financial inducements may have influenced their actions. He maintained that he was instrumental in building the party’s structure across Enugu State.

Defending his position, Anih stated that the only valid congresses of the party in the state were properly conducted and culminated in a state congress held at Aborigen Hall and Premises in Enugu. According to him, the exercise was witnessed by security agencies, electoral officials, and members of the media, and it was during that congress that he emerged as chairman.

He also alleged that the congress venue came under attack from thugs allegedly sponsored by individuals seeking to forcefully hijack the party structure, but said the attempt failed.

Anih disclosed that his camp possesses video evidence of the congress that produced him and his executive members, insisting that the exercise was supervised by a congress committee appointed by the party’s national leadership.

He further accused the party’s National Publicity Secretary of misrepresenting facts regarding the leadership structure of the NDC in Enugu State.

The embattled chairman also claimed that some officials from the party’s national secretariat had written to the Independent National Electoral Commission seeking approval to conduct ward, local government, and state congresses in May 2026. According to him, although the electoral body acknowledged the letter days earlier, the information was allegedly concealed until a court order halted the planned exercise.

Anih maintained that no valid congress was eventually held anywhere in the state, stressing that the alleged attempt to organise another exercise was effectively stopped by the intervention of the court.
