BREAKING: Tinubu Inaugurates New Ministers

President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the new Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs during a swearing-in ceremony held on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Ireporter Online, the event attracted family members of the newly appointed ministers, senior government officials, and other distinguished guests who witnessed the formal assumption of office.

The appointments come after a recent reshuffle within the Federal Executive Council, which saw the former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, step down from their positions to pursue governorship aspirations in their respective states.

President Tinubu subsequently nominated Tegbe and Enikanolaiye to fill the vacancies, with both nominees receiving Senate confirmation on May 6, 2026, paving the way for their official inauguration.

Tegbe, an indigene of Ibadan in Oyo State, brings more than three decades of experience spanning economic management, public sector reforms, and institutional development. Throughout a career exceeding 35 years, he has served in both the public and private sectors, earning recognition for his expertise in policy implementation, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Enikanolaiye, who hails from Igbagun in Kogi State, boasts an impressive academic and diplomatic record. He graduated with a First Class degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he emerged as the overall best graduating student in his faculty. He later earned a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos with distinction.

Before his ministerial appointment, Enikanolaiye served as Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and International Relations in the Office of the Chief of Staff. His diplomatic career includes postings in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, while he also served as Nigeria’s Head of Mission in New Delhi, India, before returning to take up responsibilities within the Presidency.
