Lizzo has spoken about how major changes in the music industry, particularly the shift from radio airplay to digital streaming platforms, have contributed to a decline in her fanbase over the past few years.

According to Ireporter Online, the Grammy-winning singer made the remarks while responding to a fan on X who observed a drop in her following. She explained that her early rise to fame was largely driven by heavy radio rotation, which played a key role in introducing her music to a wide audience. Lizzo noted that the industry’s evolution toward streaming has significantly changed how listeners discover music, affecting artists who previously depended on traditional radio exposure.

She further stated that beyond the industry transition, her career has also been impacted by public and professional challenges that influenced her overall trajectory. Despite these setbacks, the singer emphasized that she remains committed to maintaining her presence and continuing her work in the music industry.

Lizzo, who gained mainstream global recognition in 2019 with hit songs such as “Truth Hurts” and “Good as Hell,” said the current state of the industry now prioritizes streaming performance and playlist placement over conventional radio airplay, reshaping how artists build and sustain their audiences.
