Northern Governors, Traditional Leaders Convene Emergency Security Meeting In Kaduna (Photos)

Northern governors and traditional rulers have held a strategic emergency security meeting in Kaduna State to address the growing security challenges affecting the region and the country at large.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, was hosted by the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, and brought together members of the Northern States Governors’ Forum alongside prominent traditional leaders from the region.

According to reports, the high-level meeting was attended by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, alongside other key Northern monarchs and political leaders.

The session was chaired by the Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, the Kaduna State Government House.

According to Ireporter Online, the emergency gathering also featured representatives of major federal security institutions, including officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Ministry of Defence, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Department of State Services (DSS).

The meeting further attracted former security chiefs, retired senior military, police and paramilitary officers, as well as former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation and other prominent Northern stakeholders.

Deliberations at the meeting centred on finding lasting solutions to insecurity, strengthening collaboration among stakeholders, and developing strategies to tackle security threats affecting communities across Northern Nigeria and beyond.
