Braga Complete Signing Of Adebisi Olamikun From Inter Lagos As Arokodare Turns Down Trabzonspor Transfer

According to reports, the Lagos-based club confirmed Olamikun’s departure in a statement shared on their official account on Sunday, July 12, ending the 18-year-old defender’s time with the NPFL outfit.

The youngster is believed to have agreed to a long-term contract with Braga in a deal reportedly valued at around €50,000. Olamikun has already arrived in Portugal and is expected to begin his development journey with the club’s youth team as he works towards earning a place in the senior squad.

According to football transfer records, Olamikun becomes the eighth Nigerian player to represent Sporting Braga. He joins the likes of former Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile, who was part of Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad, among Nigerians who have featured for the Portuguese club.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has reportedly turned down an opportunity to join Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor despite the team’s continued interest in securing his services.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers forward is expected to leave the club this summer following their relegation from the Premier League, with several teams monitoring his situation.

Reports indicate that Trabzonspor submitted an official offer for the 25-year-old striker, but Arokodare is not keen on a move to Turkey as he prefers to continue his career in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Italian Serie A club Fiorentina are also said to be tracking the Nigerian forward, although their initial loan proposal was rejected by Wolves after failing to meet the club’s valuation.

Arokodare remains tied to Wolverhampton Wanderers until 2029, with the club also having an option to extend his contract by an additional year.
