The Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Mohammed Shehu Mustapha Idrissa Timta, has led traditional rulers, political stakeholders and community leaders from the emirate on a solidarity visit to Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum in support of Ali Isa Abdullahi’s emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

According to Ireporter Online, the visit came shortly after the Emir of Biu, Alhaji Mustapha Umar Mustapha II, led district heads and other stakeholders in a similar show of support for the APC governorship ticket.

During the visit to the Government House, the Gwoza monarch expressed appreciation for the selection of Engineer Mustapha Gubio as the APC governorship candidate and Abdullahi as his running mate, describing the duo as capable leaders with the experience needed to continue Borno State’s development.

The Emir stated that the people of Gwoza Emirate were united in their support for the APC candidates, noting that their choice reflected confidence in their ability to provide effective leadership.

He also highlighted Gubio’s previous role as Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement under Governor Zulum, stating that their collaboration contributed significantly to the rebuilding and resettlement of communities affected by insurgency, including Gwoza town.

The traditional ruler described Abdullahi as a committed and hardworking politician who deserved the confidence placed in him, while urging continued support for the APC ticket.

Responding, Governor Zulum appreciated the Emir and the delegation for their show of solidarity, saying the visit demonstrated unity and confidence in the party’s candidates.

The governor noted that Abdullahi’s selection reflected the trust and support of his people, while calling on party members and supporters to remain united and prayerful ahead of the election.
