Abuja Under Tight Police Surveillance In Response To #EndBadGovernance Protest 

After a brief period of calm in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), protesters returned to the streets on Saturday.

At the Eagles Square, there was noticeable increase in the number of security agents stationed at the facility, a change from the past three days when there were no protests.

On Saturday, the protesters, who began their demonstration as early as 7am were chorusing “End hunger” and “Reverse fuel subsidy removal,” among others.

Hundreds of police operatives were deployed across major flashpoints over the action.

On Friday evening, police and other security operatives increased surveillance in the Nation’s capital.

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), on Saturday warned that its  always ready to forestall any breakdown of law and order before, during and after any protest.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi gave this assurance while reacting to the final day 10.

Adejobi had said the police cannot be taken unawares, adding that the conduct of the protesters will be handled professionally nationwide.

Protesters in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were restricted to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
