Akpabio: FG Tackling Insecurity With Global Support
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has affirmed that the Federal Government has implemented strategies to tackle insecurity and restore safety nationwide. He made the remarks on Friday during the inauguration of a sub-committee of the National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress.
Highlighting the issue as a top priority for the current administration, Akpabio disclosed that the government is working closely with the international community to address security challenges and ensure national stability. He expressed satisfaction with the president’s efforts to date and expressed confidence in the continued implementation of policies designed to reposition Nigeria as a safe and secure nation.
Akpabio further called on Nigerians to strengthen the country’s internal capacities, particularly amid global economic and political uncertainties. He referenced ongoing international tensions, including the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and developments involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, noting that these events have significant impacts on the global economy.
Emphasizing the importance of local production and consumption, the Senate President urged citizens to “think Nigeria” by prioritizing domestic production and consumption in both policy-making and daily life.
