Bandits Attack Mosque in Zamfara During Night Prayers, One Killed

In a deadly attack that has shocked residents, armed bandits invaded a mosque in Dole Moriki village, located in the Moriki District of Zurmi Local Government Area, Zamfara State, during Isha (night) prayers on Saturday.

According to intelligence reports shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the assault took place around 8:00 p.m., when gunmen opened fire on worshippers mid-prayer. One person was confirmed dead on the scene, while two others sustained gunshot injuries.

Emergency response teams transported the victims to General Hospital Moriki, where the injured are currently receiving medical attention. The deceased was released to relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Security forces have since been deployed to stabilize the area and restore calm following the attack. Local authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but community members are calling for increased security presence to prevent further violence.
