The teenager was apprehended on Wednesday, July 12th, during the process of clearing passengers for the Turkish Airlines flight TK 0624.

During questioning by the NDLEA operatives, Daberechi claimed to be a student traveling to Cyprus for his studies. However, upon a thorough search of his luggage, 7.2kg of a whitish substance was discovered carefully concealed inside a sack of crayfish.

According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, a field test confirmed that the substance was indeed methamphetamine.
