BREAKING: Top APC Chieftain Dies After Meeting On Presidential Election (PHOTO)
Mrs Esther Bassey, the chairman of Cross River State’s Calabar South Local Government Area, has died.
According to Daily Trust, Bassey died after attending a meeting to discuss how to perfect strategies for Saturday’s election.
One of the late chairman’s aides commented on the development, saying the late chairman, fondly known as Queen of the South, was in good health last night.

“She attended a series of meetings to prepare for tomorrow’s presidential election. She held some meetings yesterday close to the night.
“She showed no signs of exhaustions or sickness when she retired later in the evening”, one of the aides said.
According to reports, the former council boss died in her sleep around 4 a.m. in Calabar.
The deceased belonged to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
