BREAKING: We Have Lost An Institution – Shettima Mourns Death Of Prominent Nigerian

Vice President Kashim Shettima joined fellow Muslim devotees in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, for the burial rites of the late Khadi Kaka Shehu Imam. Khadi Imam, the father of Alh Mohammed Imam, a former candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Borno State, passed away in the early hours of Monday.

The funeral prayers, which attracted a large gathering, were held at the residence of the centenarian in old GRA, Maiduguri. The deceased was laid to rest at the Gwange Cemetery ground in the state capital.

Khadi Imam is to be remembered as a philanthropist, an exemplar, and a senior statesman who embodied peace and harmony throughout his life.

Vice President Shettima, while offering prayers for the peaceful repose of the late Islamic Scholar, described Khadi Imam as a figure of great significance whose impact transcended not only Borno State and Northern Nigeria but the entire nation.

He further highlighted that the esteemed scholar’s legacy will endure, emphasizing his role as a benefactor, a source of inspiration, and a revered statesman who championed peace and unity until his passing.

“We mourn him and also celebrate him as an institution. May Allah grant his soul eternal rest and reward him with Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah also grant his family and the good people of Borno and Nigeria the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” expressed VP Shettima.

Among the mourners who accompanied the vice president were Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi, the Shehu of Borno; H.E Hon Mai Mala Buni, Governor of Yobe State; Hon Umar Usman Kadafur, Borno Deputy Governor; Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori- Deputy National Chairman (North); Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture; Sen Mohammed Tahir Monguno (Borno North), and Sen. Kaka Shehu Lawan (Borno Central).

Also present were Hon Satomi Ahmed Saleh, member representing Jere Federal Constituency; Hon Abubakar Tijjani, Secretary to Borno State Government, Barr Mallam Fannami, Borno State Head of Service; elder statesmen; Honorable Commissioners, party stalwarts, among others.
