Burna Boy Defends Free Burkina Faso Concert Plan, Blasts Critics
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Burna Boy, has fiercely addressed the criticism surrounding his proposal to stage a free concert in Burkina Faso.
The artist, who recently faced online backlash over the initiative, responded via Instagram Stories, rejecting claims that he had been allegedly snubbed by Burkina Faso’s president and condemned the skepticism surrounding his motives.
In his post, the Grammy-winning musician expressed disappointment over what he described as “unexpectedly harsh and offensive remarks” from some detractors.
Burna Boy emphasized that his gesture was rooted in principle rather than personal benefit. “I have nothing to gain from anybody. I don’t owe anyone anything, but that never stopped me from doing the great work I do,” he stated.
Affirming his unwavering integrity, he added, “My integrity is unquestionable. Therefore burn in hell if you said anything negative.”
The comment sparked varied reactions online, with fans and critics continuing to debate the artist’s intent and tone.
