According to Ireporter Online, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has publicly dissociated itself from a widely circulated recruitment notice trending across social media. The document, which features a forged official letterhead and a fake electronic signature attributed to the Secretary to the Board, is dated December 10, 2025.

The fraudulent memo falsely claims that the Board has progressed to the next phase of its recruitment process involving physical screening and document verification. It goes further to direct unsuspecting applicants to a bogus website, “recruitment.cdcffib.government.ng,” urging them to select dates and venues for screening between December 15 and 19, 2025. It also alleges that the screening exercise would take place from December 22 to 26, 2025.

Responding to the development, the Secretary to the Board, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin, called on the public to dismiss the fake publication in its entirety. In a statement issued on Thursday, December 11, 2025, and signed by A. M. Jibril, the Board clarified that no announcement had been made regarding dates or venues for any physical screening or document verification.

Major General Jibrin condemned the misinformation as the handiwork of fraudsters attempting to deceive and exploit job seekers. The Board urged applicants to rely exclusively on its verified official communication channels for accurate recruitment updates, warning that any information not released through authorised platforms should be ignored.
