during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed, following the conclusion of the Federal Executive Council meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.

This free train service will be available from December 20, 2024, through January 5, 2025, as part of the government’s effort to ease the transportation burden during the festive season.

This move follows last year’s successful implementation of similar initiatives, which also included luxury bus arrangements to help reduce travel costs for Nigerians during the holidays.
