Reaching out to their Band A customers through various social media platforms, the DisCos sought understanding for their failure to achieve the required minimum service level, citing technical issues as the primary challenge.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) had mandated that customers on Band A feeders, who now pay N225/KWh instead of N68KWh, must receive a minimum of 20 hours of electricity daily, following the withdrawal of subsidies.

NERC warned that failure to meet this requirement would lead to the downgrading of Band A feeders to other categories based on the hours of power supply.

Apologizing to affected customers, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company attributed power outages to load shedding by the Nigerian Transmission Company.

Similarly, the Kano DisCo explained an issue with the circuit breaker on the Band A 33KV Gaskiya feeder, which caused disruptions in electricity supply.

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company also sought understanding from customers for power outages in approximately 20 Band A feeders, citing TCN system outages and tripping on IBEDC feeders as causes.

Additionally, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company attributed prolonged power outages in parts of the Federal Capital Territory to technical faults at the Gwagwalada Transmission Station owned by TCN.

The DisCos assured customers that dedicated teams were working tirelessly to rectify faults and restore power supply promptly.
