Donald Duke Accuses APC Campaign Of Using His Photo In Tinubu Documentaries

Former Cross Rivers State governor Donald Duke has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using his image in documentaries featuring APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

Duke made the remarks during a recent roundtable discussion with editors hosted by the Front Fort Media Initiative and the MacArthur Foundation in Lagos.

He statedd that the APC and its campaign team used his 12-year-old photograph as Tinubu’s in a documentary titled “The Nation Builder.”

Duke referred to a documentary that narrated Tinubu’s life history, including his childhood, education, political journey, and achievements in both the public and private sectors.

“My disagreement is that my photograph as a 12-year-old is used as his photograph. So they couldn’t find his photograph as a young person and they had to take my own photograph,” Duke said.

“The picture of the boy used as Bola Tinubu in all the documentaries is me. I am the boy in the picture, not Tinubu as they claimed in their documentaries.

“That photo was taken when I was 12 years old during my school years at the Federal Government College Sokoto, in Sokoto stat.”

“I don’t know if I can get justice on this but I feel pained that a 12-year-old is being used for political (reasons).”

Neither the APC nor its presidential campaign council has admitted or denied the former Cross Rivers State governor’s allegations.

Duke expressed disappointment that the level of debate in politics has dwindled to the point where candidates for political office are not discussing issues that directly affect the people they seek to govern.

He criticized the discussions on topics that attack the individuals running for office in the 2023 elections.
