Drama In Lagos As Police Nab Taxi Driver Accused Of Serial Rape And Robbery

According to Ireporter Online, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos, have apprehended a commercial taxi driver identified as Adedayo Ben Adegbola for allegedly engaging in serial cases of rape, assault, and armed robbery targeting female passengers in various parts of Lagos State.

The arrest reportedly followed a thorough investigation ordered by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohuntare Jimoh, after several victims lodged complaints that led to Adegbola’s photograph circulating widely on social media. The suspect was arrested on October 31, 2025, and has since been taken into custody.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, operatives recovered a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT, believed to have been used by the suspect in perpetrating the crimes. The vehicle has been secured as an exhibit while investigations continue.

Authorities disclosed that efforts are underway to track down other suspected accomplices involved in the series of attacks. Victims have been encouraged to cooperate with investigators, with assurances that their identities will remain confidential.

CP Jimoh reaffirmed the command’s dedication to securing justice for victims and ensuring the safety of all residents across Lagos. He assured the public that updates on the case would be released as the investigation progresses.
