EDHA Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku Faces Social Media Backlash As Evidence Confirms He Ordered PDP Thugs To Brutally Attack Akpata And Injure LP Members (Video)

Yesterday, reports surfaced that thug affiliated with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) violently attacked members of the Labour Party, including the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Olumide Akpata, and his supporters in Uhunmora Ward 2, Owan West LGA.
Eyewitnesses at the scene later revealed that the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, orchestrated the attack. They stated that thugs broke bottles and physically assaulted Labour Party members under the Speaker’s orders, who insisted that only the PDP could campaign in his village.
One eyewitness recounted, “This man, they’ve been fighting him since morning. See his mouth, they said Labour Party members are too many in Ward 2 Uhunmora, so they beat us.”
A Labour Party supporter, who was one of the victims, shared his harrowing experience: “We were here waiting for our Governor (Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata) to come. Then the PDP Councillor and others came, saying the Speaker sent them to chase us away, that we should go to our secretariat, that we have no right to be here. When I tried to film what was happening, the Councillor tried to take my phone. When I resisted, he grabbed me and assaulted me twice. This is the result,” he said, showing his injuries.
The viral video that circulated showed Labour Party supporters bearing visible bruises, sharing their ordeal with the public.
Akpata’s candidacy has posed a significant threat to the sitting administration, which seeks to illegitimately impose their protégé, Asue Ighodalo, who emerged victorious in the now-disqualified PDP primary election.
At this crucial juncture, where the rights and freedom of speech of the people are continuously suppressed by the government and powerful figures, Akpata’s vision is essential to changing the status quo. Edolites are urged to support Akpata, whose distinct approach to governance is evident in his track record and vision for a more equitable society.
