The Legislature has been notably cooperative regarding the Appropriation Bill, ensuring its passage for the benefit of our people,” he stated.
Okpebholo urged the Judiciary to emulate this cooperative spirit, stressing that collaborative efforts are essential for delivering justice and supporting the state’s growth. “My goal is to advance Edo State. We aim to enhance our educational system and assist the Judiciary in achieving its objectives,” he stated.
Recognizing the Role of the Judiciary
Governor Okpebholo praised the Chief Judge and his team for their dedication to justice and expressed hope that their collaboration would positively impact governance in Edo. “I commend the Chief Judge for this visit. Inclusiveness in governance is vital. I encourage you to support our administration so we can advance the state collectively,” he said.
In response, Chief Judge Justice Daniel Okungbowa reiterated the Judiciary’s commitment to delivering justice and collaborating with the Executive and Legislature. “We are here to strengthen our relationship with the Executive. The Judiciary is dedicated to serving the people, and we assure you of our readiness to partner with both branches to develop Edo State and ensure effective governance,” he declared.
Governor Okpebholo concluded by reaffirming the importance of inclusivity and collective responsibility in governance. He expressed confidence that cooperation among the three branches would lead to meaningful progress for Edo State. “The challenges facing Edo cannot be addressed by the Executive alone. It will take a united effort from the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary to reach our goals. Together, we will promote development and enhance the lives of our citizens,” he said.
