Professor Ayodele emphasized the university’s strong stance on discipline and its commitment to maintaining a high standard of conduct among both staff and students. He remarked, “Under my leadership, the university has raised its standards of discipline to commendable levels. We have zero tolerance for misconduct, and those found guilty have been duly sanctioned according to the university’s regulations.”
Details of the disciplinary actions revealed that three staff members were dismissed for abandoning their posts, one for sexual misconduct, while three others were prohibited from holding leadership roles for three years. Additionally, nine staff members had their appointments terminated, and 21 received official warnings for various offenses.
Looking ahead to the convocation ceremony, scheduled for March 29, 2025, Professor Ayodele announced that 200 out of 16,446 graduates from the 2022/23 and 2023/24 academic sessions will receive first-class honours. A breakdown of degree classifications showed that 5,406 students earned a second-class upper division, 9,076 obtained a second-class lower division, 1,295 earned third-class degrees, and four students graduated with a pass.
Furthermore, the university will confer 162 PhD degrees, 242 master’s degrees, and 61 postgraduate diplomas. The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for increasing the university’s monthly subvention from ₦260 million to ₦410 million, a move that has significantly helped clear outstanding staff salaries and allowances, boosting staff morale and contributing to the stability of the academic calendar.
